COLOURED CONTINUUM
10 JANUARY — 8 FEBRUARY 2026
lLIM TZE PENG
Confluence Art Space ushers in the new year with “Coloured Continuum”, a solo exhibition by the late Cultural Medallion recipient Lim Tze Peng, one of the most significant ink artists in Singapore’s art history. Coloured Continuum traces the chromatic evolution of Lim’s post-millennial practice, distinguished by heightened vibrancy in contrast to the understated palette in his formative ink works. The exhibition brings together a collection of these boldly coloured late works as a heartfelt tribute to the late artist, celebrating the ebullient persona that shaped his later practice and the luminous vitality that continues to define his artistic legacy. Of the 18 paintings featured, eight pieces are particularly significant: first conceived by Lim in the 1970s and 1980s, these works were later reawakened by the artist in the 2020s, enlivening the compositions with melodic infusions of colour that breathe renewed life into the black-and-white portrayals of early Singapore.
